A new bike

I want to share a way to keep my nerves and bike intact :)
In anticipation of the New Year, I bought my wife a bicycle. "Real", not folding :)

And now the advice itself: disassemble the entire bike completely and assemble it correctly! 🤣🤣🤣
What should be lubricated was completely dry.
What should be well tightened was unscrewed with your fingers.
What needs to be adjusted has been overstretched.
But now that you assemble the bike correctly, I'm starting to like it very much. And I'm sure my wife will be very pleased to ride it ;)

I completely understand this, and I sleep better after I completely strip the frame, make sure it's all clean, and put anti-seize on everything that bolts or slides into the frame. :)

The standard to which new bikes are assembled from shops is just not good enough. Or, as I like to joke on my account: "Not every sickness hurts." :ROFLMAO:

That's a nice bike, I'm sure she'll love it. :)

I understand that this is not really on the topic anymore...
But I just want to say that all the work on the new bike is complete. Installed shorter cranksets (165 mm), bottom bracket Hollowtech II, oval chainring, rear derailleur was replaced by Shimano Deore 5100. The Selle SMP TRK saddle is installed. Grips replaced by Ergon GP1. The pedals are installed by Nukeproof Electron EVO. Stand Author Stand AKS-570 R40 is installed.
I really liked the end result (y)

That's a thoughtful gift for your wife! It's great that you took the time to assemble the bike properly to ensure its safety and longevity. Proper maintenance and care are essential for keeping a bike in good condition.

It looks like my old Aist bike I got from my cousin in Ukraine. Sweet memories..
All bicycles are similar in one way or another ;) And I agree that old bicycles evoke fond memories 😌
Минск... Урал... Украина... Аист... Салют... Десна... There were a lot of them. But I liked the Урал the most - I don't know, he rode the best under me 😆
But many, many years ago, my father gave me Украину - how many adventures she had with me 😃

P.S. And the bike from this topic turned out to be really very good - just two days ago, my wife and I took a 60km trip. My wife is absolutely delighted 😊
