Greeting from Arizona! It is very hot here in July, and the Monsoons are here. A monsoon is a violent rain storm with lots of lightning and thunder. Not much fun for riding. My wife and I moved here about three years ago to escape California and retire.

I started working on bikes at a local shop back in 1971 in a little town in Washington state. I am basically self taught, by reading books on cycling and bicycle repair.

I bought my Park truing stand brand new over 40 years ago and still have it. Along the way, I also acquired a VAR and a Hozan as welI.

I have well over 30 bikes at this time, some few have indexing, none over 8 speed. My favorite are Schwinn and anything from the '60s and '70s, but a few from the '80s.

I am always looking to learn more about bicycles and the industry. I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks along the way, and hope to be able to share with anyone who needs help.

My two favorite things are wheels and coaster brake hubs. I even imported over 600 Velosteel hubs a few years ago, and sold them on Ebay. Still have lots of parts for these too.

I saw BikeGremlin's videos on YT and had to come check out his forum, so here I am.

Hello and welcome,

Thrilled to see a fellow mechanic join. :)
Looking forward to learning and sharing the knowledge.

A (not very) fun fact:
My first bike had a coaster brake, and for years I thought those were the only brakes worth their salt, until I learned how to set up V-brakes. Still love the single speed bikes with the rear coaster brake. :)
