• Achtung, achtung!  :)

During July 27th 2024 (or 28th, depending on your time zone), hosting server maintenance is planned and the forum will not work normally (we'll set it to read-only mode at best, though it will be completely offline for a while). Hopefully, it will all go well and we will be back on line within less than 8 hours.

Thank you in advance for your patience.

Note, this has nothing to do with the planned forum upgrade to version 2.3, which will most probably happen at a later date (probably in Autumn).

"separating" lubricants

Greetings, dear community!
A question about lubricants. There are "separating" lubricants based on copper, and there are based on aluminum. When servicing a bicycle, which lubricant should be preferred?

P.S. I have both types of lube, just wondering which is the "right" one 🤓

I think I found the answer to my question here (y)

Really glad to hear it. :)
I hope the information was easy and quick to find (please let me know if the website search option needs further improvement).

For anyone else with a similar dilemma:

BikeGremlin website lubricant (oils and greases) section

There, two separate articles deal with aluminium (and copper for that matter):
I will now add the jump-to-the-TOC links in the greases article (it is very long, so that should help with navigation). :)

...it is very long...
Such articles should be detailed and long. Because it's not easy for everyone to sort out the assortment.
Here, for example, is just a part of my "collection" :ROFLMAO:
