Insta360 X5 design flaw

My post mortem analysis of the Insta360 X5 camera that I bought new and that broke within months of normal use (bicycle mounted mostly).

I have spent a lot of money to buy the camera, batteries, and mounts, and I have no high hopes of any refunds the way it seems to be going for now (will update this in case of any changes). I also don't prefer to get the camera replaced because the flaw is by design - so even a new camera will break pretty quickly if you use it for action.

This has been going on for many years now, to my amazement. I've seen many road bike Insta failures, same basic issue. At least since the X3. With YT and other social media for sale as marketing department tools, the issues are sorta glossed over. The folks using Insta action cameras for food prep clips or city walk vlogs will be fine tho, as far as the mounts go. Personally I use GoPro.

After analysis by our engineering team, the issue appears to have been caused by bumpy road conditions, which led to the bottom screw hole of your X5 breaking when using the Bike Computer Mount Independent Handlebars (Pro). Based on this, the damage is considered user responsibility as it is against the usage notes (point number 4) when using the bike computer mount.

I am very displeased with the product design flaw resulting in poor quality and no durability for use in action.
I am also very displeased by the company practically admitting that flaw and covering behind paperwork to not pay a refund.

You are not the kind of people I want to do business with.

Been great using GoPros since the Hero 3. Always great CS. They refuse to purchase 50-200 influencers to form and change views, so it is a difference in attitude. Years ago what DJI and Insta do daily would be illegal or immoral, imo. I use all brands at MotorSports events. Heck Insta even banned me from their Reddit page and DJI came close. Many folks just have their posts deleted, removed, get banned etc while they are dealing with DJ-Insta CS a form of pressure. GoPro does not have a Reddit page but is seen from time to time on r/gopro, as am i.
